Southcoast Flyfisher

The South Coast of Massachusetts (sometimes stylized Southcoast) is the region of southeastern Massachusetts consisting of southern Bristol and Plymouth counties bordering Buzzards Bay, and includes the cities of Fall RiverNew Bedford, the southeastern tip of East Taunton and nearby towns.

The term is recent, dating to the 1990s, and sometimes confused with the South Shore (a region southeast of Boston that includes Norfolk, Northern Bristol and eastern Plymouth counties).

I began my interest in fly fishing and fly tying about 30 years ago. However life can get in the way when you're making plans and, after a 30 year hiatus, last year I once again picked up my fly rod.

I received some coaching from a friend who is Master fly caster himself, although his humility would prevent him from admitting it; himself having taught fly casting for 25 plus years, published a book on fly casting, and produced the first video on salt water fly casting. (You can find his link on this site.

With the acceptance of some fly fishing articles by various publications, and with the encouragement of this friend, I decided to start a blog. Hopefully one will find the articles at least, interesting.

Tight lines and gentle breezes. M
